How Moon.com Rakeback Actually Works

What 3.5% lifetime rakeback is calculated on, when it lands, and what it is worth at realistic trading volumes.

Rakeback in one sentence

Rakeback is a share of the trading fees you pay, returned to you.

What the 3.5% applies to

It applies to the fees generated by your activity on Moon.com — not to your profit, and not to your deposit. So the cashback scales with how much you trade, not with how well you trade. A losing month still produces rakeback.

Instant, lifetime, automatic

  • Instant — it is credited as you trade, not on a monthly cycle.
  • Lifetime — the rate does not decay after 30 days or a bonus period.
  • Automatic — there is nothing to claim, no wagering requirement, no minimum.

A worked example

Suppose you trade $20,000 of notional volume in a month and your effective fee load is 1%. That is $200 of fees. At 3.5% rakeback you receive $7 back. Modest — until you compound it. Trade that consistently for a year and it is $84 you would simply not have had.

Heavier volume changes the picture fast: $250,000 of yearly volume at the same fee load returns roughly $87.50.

Use the calculator on the rakeback page to run your own numbers rather than trusting a round figure.

Why the rate is worth caring about

Every edge in prediction markets is thin. Fees are the most reliable drag on returns, and rakeback is the only lever that reduces that drag without requiring you to be right more often.

What rakeback is not

It is not a bonus, not a deposit match, and not a guarantee of profit. If your strategy loses money, rakeback softens the loss — it does not reverse it.

Checking your rate

Your account settings show the active referral rate. If it does not read 3.5%, the code was not applied at signup. Contact Moon.com support before you build volume.
